Shopping in Milan with K. (part 2)

After virgola32 and to-B, we thought it advisable to go fetch some shoes to go with K.’s new clothes. She wanted some man-like shoes to go with her new trousers. So I took her to Panca’s, off Corso Di Porta Ticinese (www.pancas.it). They sell fine hand made shoes at incredibly cheap prices (and when I say cheap I mean that you can get a pair of handmade bicolour wing tip shoes for something like 90€). Panca’s is also worth a visit because actually is one of the very few old-style shop still open in Milan. The old gentleman who actually makes the shoes also sells them. If he likes you he could even agree to make you a personalised pair of shoes according to your specific requests.

Then we went to my friend Paola Rigante’s Mariza Tassy (www.marizatassy.it). Paola has a very eclectic attitude when it comes to choosing what to propose to her clients. Located at no. 45 Via Molino delle Armi, just in front of the magnificent Basilica di San Lorenzo, Mariza Tassy actually offers an incredibly wide selection of clothes. They come in every colour, fabric and style, from very understated beige outwears to bold golden dungarees. The very plus to it is that Paola is always in search of new young designers and brands so if there is anything noteworthy chances are you can spot it there.

After a 5 minutes walk we got at no. 6 Corso Genova at Biffi (www.biffi.com they sell online). Together with its twin shop Banner, designed by famous architect Gae Aulenti, Biffi is kind of an institution in Milan. I don’t personally know their current buyer, but definitely she got the heritage of the shop founder, Ms. Biffi actually, who unfortunately passed away a few years ago. Now, whatever the most renowned brands offer that is worth having for both men and women, Biffi has it, shoes and accessories included. The list of the brands they offer is stunning: Gucci, Lanvin, Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Emilio Pucci, just to mention a few, but also 7 For All Mankind, J Brand, Duvetica, Converse. Of course when shopping at Biffi you’d better not to be on a budget (unless it’s the one K.’s husband made available, that is).
